Duck Soupers Everywhere Mourn the Passing of Tom Nelson, a true Duck Soup "Lifer"

We are sorry to say that one of our own Duck Soup Softball Team Members passed away this winter of 2003.  Tom "Crusty" Nelson was a beloved member of the team for a number of years and a loyal volunteer at the Fiasco.  He and daughter Carrie (who helped keep score at many of the games) were always smiling and happy to be with the team.  Tom was alway able to clear the concession stand at the end of the tournament with his great sales ability to the people in the stands.  In addition to softball, Tom loved to fish - any time of year.  We'll miss his glowing face and positive attitude at the tournament and parties this year and always.  A 3-Quack salute to you Tom!

Jamie Alpert - A Duck Soup "Lifer"

She's been with us since before she was born.  It was probably the smell of "weiner water soup" while she was still in the womb that hooked Jamie for being a Duck Soup "Lifer".  She's now 18 and graduated with honors from Lakeville High School, class of '02.  Heading to Hamline in the Fall, she'll spend yet another year with us as an ardent volunteer schlepping hot dogs on her rollerblades, selling T-shirts at the Merchandise Mart and painting faces with Diedre.  She's even been known to take on her father's "Groucho" look from time to time.

A Duck Salute to Jamie Alpert for her lifetime achievement of never missing a Fiasco from before she was born!  We love you Jamie!
